Shabana Azmi cheated by liquor delivery platform |...
Mumbai: Veteran Bollywood actress Shabana Azmi on Thursday accused an online liquor delivery platform in Mumbai of cheating her.
The actress took to Twitter to share her ordeal with her followers. She stated that she had paid for her order on a platform named Living Liquidz, but not only did she fail to receive what she had ordered for, but the workers also stopped answering her calls.
She also shared the account number and other bank details of the platform. However, she did not reveal the bill amount that she had paid.
"BEWARE I have been cheated by them. #Living Liquidz I paid upfront and when the ordered item didn't turn up they stopped picking up my calls!" she wrote.
Several netizens then urged the 70-year-old to lodge a complaint with the police to bring the culprits to the fore.
This is not the first time that such an incident has been reported in the city. A couple of months ago, a senior citizen in Andheri was duped for Rs 68,000 after he had placed an order for alcohol from a wine shop in JB Nagar in Andheri.
The Mumbai Police has been repeatedly warning the citizens against falling prey to cyber fraud during the pandemic. They have also asked people to verify the phone numbers and other details from trusted websites and apps before making any transactions.
