Sonalee Kulkarni is a popular actress in the Marathi film industry. She has also done a few Bollywood movies like Grand Masti and Singham 2. She made her Bollywood film debut in the adult sex comedy Grand Masti where she played the role of Mamta, wife of Ritesh Deshmukh's character. Sonalee did a cameo in the Ajay Devgan picture Singham 2. Yesterday, Sonalee Kulkarni’s father, Manohar Kulkarni, sustained a knife injury in an attack by a male trespasser in their house. The trespasser who is 24 has been identified and police have begun a probe into his motives. The police revealed that the man entered their house in Nigdi, Pimpri-Chinchwad at 7.30 am by climbing up a pipe and entering from the terrace.
The suspect was first seen by the house help said the police. The police also shared that when Sonalee Kulkarni's father tried to question the man he took out a knife and attacked Manohar Kulkarni's hand. He ran away post that and was later caught with the help of people in the neighbourhood and handed over to the police. In a statement, the police revealed, "The man’s motive is being probed. Our primary probe points to him being a fan of the actress. While the family said in their statement that the suspect’s motive was robbery, only subsequent probe will ascertain the exact cause."
Talking about the actress, Sonalee Kulkarni married to chartered accountant Kunal Benodekar in Dubai in the first week of May. She had announced her engagement with Kunal Benodekar on her birthday (May 18). Sonalee Kulkarni had earlier recalled about her birthday celebrations and told HT, “Back then, there was no access to generators or inverters. And, invariably it would pour on my birthday which would cause power cuts. So, I would have an extra special candle light birthday party. I would feel special and unique because of it, and really enjoyed the time. From a gold coin, to a car, and a home, we try and buy something valuable to mark the day. My parents inculcated this habit in me and I am glad I continue with it.”
